Hang the bottom of the chandelier

above the tabletop (add ~3" for each extra foot of ceiling height).
Chandelier Size
Dining:
Fixture width ≈
½–⅔
the width of the table.
Room sizing trick:
(Room length + width in feet) → convert to inches for an approximate fixture diameter.
Entry:
Center in the space; allow 7 ft clearance below in open areas.
Island Pendants
30–36"
~26–30" apart

above the countertop.
Space pendants ~

apart and keep at least
12"
from island edges.
Styling Tips
Entryway:
Use a statement fixture; center in the space.
Dining:
Keep the fixture centered over the table (not the room).
